Suspended and attached growth systems

For constructing wastewater treatment tanks in both suspended and attached growth systems, start by choosing durable materials such as reinforced concrete or steel for the tank's structure, ensuring it can handle the required hydraulic and biological loads. The tanks are designed with adequate volume based on wastewater flow rates and organic loading, typically ranging from 3-6 meters deep. For aeration in suspended growth systems, install diffusers or surface aerators to ensure proper oxygenation, while in attached growth systems, ensure sufficient surface area for biofilm attachment using plastic media or rock beds. Drainage and sludge handling systems are incorporated, along with effluent collection mechanisms. Regular monitoring with sensors for oxygen, flow, and sludge levels ensures efficient operation and timely maintenance.
